Granada is based at the foot of the "Sierra Nevada. The Sierra is Spain's highest mountain-range with excellent possibilities for winter-sports. It´s highest peak, the "Mulhacén" has a height of 3478 meters. Also it´s not very far from the Mediterranean sea, so Granada makes the perfect place to live and study.
The Sierra Nevada Ski and Mountain Resort lies south of Europe. It lies at only  32 km from Granada and has sign-posted slopes for all skill-levels and contains excellent quality snow. If you´re into cross-country skiing, you´re in luck, as it has a  cross-country skiing track, snow park with half-pipe and a recreational area for non-skiers, sleigh rides and night skiing on weekends.

Fashions, Gifts and Antiques
You´ll find most  fashionable clothing shops close to Granada´s Cathedral and in areas surrounding Puerta Real, Carrera de la Virgen, Recogidas, Acera del Carro, and Pedro Antonio de Alarcón. If you have an interest in antiques, then you can find these shops on the Elvira and the Cuesta de Gomérez street.
HANDICRAFTS (artesanía)

Most important handicraft traditions in Granada consist of musical instruments, ceramics, cloth, leather, and wrought iron. You´ll find that Moorish influence is to be found in many of them, such as marquetry. Furthermore decorating of furniture and wooden objects with precious inlaid woods also has undergone Moorish influence. The likes of  wrought iron or repoussé designs in copper are another big thing in Granada.

Fajalauza is the name of the typical glazed ceramic from Granada. Its name comes from a Place where potters settled near the gateway of the same name in the Albaicín. You will find a lot of these handicrafts in Alcaiceria, the Albayzin and Cuesta de Gomerez.

Parks
Here we´ll tell you about the Alhambra and Generalife. Both of these have geometrically designed gardens with  many fountains and pools which are surrounded by beautiful beds of flowers. Lots of trees grow fruit on them  as well as flowers which have amazing smells to them, and its colors will capture your attention for sure!. You´ll usually find terraces and fountains in different stages of height, which are quite spectacular to see, especially if you haven´t seen this before. Balconies are decorated and  courtyards provoke the visitor to rest in its silence.
